This milestone event invites families, both two-legged and four-legged members alike, to come together for a day filled with the joys of a festival like no other. Prepare for an exciting array of pet-centric activities, live entertainment, shopping, delectable food, melodious music, and countless surprises that promise an experience to cherish. This all-day extravaganza promises a delightful experience for all attendees. For our beloved furry companions, there's a world of pet-centric activities waiting to be explored. From Dock Diving to Lure and Agility Courses, the Dog Park, and the thrilling Doggie Dash speed trial, your four-legged friends will have a blast from morning to evening. Meanwhile, families can revel in the carnival-themed Crunch Zone, where games, live music, entertainment, and more create an atmosphere of pure joy. And, of course, there's something for everyone to savor with a marketplace filled with pet-focused products to explore and delicious food options scattered throughout the festival grounds. Best of all, the door to this pet paradise is wide open, as entry to Petfest is entirely free, and parking is on the house, courtesy of the festival organizers.
Giving Back to Pet-Related Non-Profits
While many attractions at Petfest are free, some pet-specific activities require tickets. The proceeds from these ticket sales go directly to various pet-related non-profit organizations that are part of the Petfest Pals program, supporting a great cause while having fun. It’s $2/ticket or $10 for 6 tickets; tickets can be purchased at any of the three booths located throughout the Petfest grounds.
Safety First for Everyone
The safety of all guests, whether human or pet, is paramount. All pet attendees are required to have a human sign a waiver confirming that their pet(s) are up-to-date on vaccinations and well-behaved. Waivers can be obtained at the Mid and South Gate entrances to the festival park or downloaded in advance.
Exciting Pet Activities
Get ready for a day of thrilling pet activities at Petfest that will have your four-legged companions wagging their tails with excitement. Sponsored by Schlossman Subaru City of Milwaukee, the Doggie Dash is a highlight of the event. This high-speed competition allows your furry friends to showcase their sprinting prowess, with prizes up for grabs for the top three dogs in each of the three size categories. Keep in mind that this is a ticketed event, with two tickets required per dog per run.
If your pup is more of a water enthusiast, don't miss the Dock Diving experience. For just $20 per dog, your canine companion can leap into the water with enthusiasm. Reservations are recommended to secure your pup's jump time. It's a chance for both seasoned jumpers and first-time divers to make a splash and create lasting memories.
For those who prefer a good chase, the Lure Course sponsored by Playtime Doggy Daycare provides dogs of all ages and breeds the opportunity to pursue a moving lure. And due to popular demand, there will be not one, but two lure courses this year to accommodate all the eager chasers.
If your dog is social and yearning for playmates, the Dog Park sponsored by Central Bark offers a secure, off-leash environment where your pup can frolic and make new friends. Lap Dog Lounge provides a cozy lakeside retreat with dog beds and loungers, perfect for some relaxation in between all the excitement.
Additionally, for a more agile experience, Think Pawsitive offers a fully fenced and turfed Agility Course suitable for all skill levels. It's an excellent opportunity for both you and your pup to test your teamwork and coordination. The Agility Course requires three tickets per dog per session, so be sure to plan accordingly.
New for 2023, the Splash Zone offers a wet and wild experience for water-loving dogs. Presented by Aqua Therapups, this pool playtime is not only loads of fun but also a chance to learn about the benefits of swim therapy for dogs. So, whether your pup is a sprinter, a diver, a chaser, or just loves a good soak, Petfest has it all to keep them entertained and happy.
Once you and your furry friend have had your fill of action-packed activities, head over to the Bier Garden to unwind with a refreshing beverage. Pup Cups are available for purchase at all bar locations, and a portion of the proceeds from Pup Cup sales goes to support a non-profit organization in the Petfest Pals program.
Don't worry, while your fur-babies are busy having a blast, Petfest has your other kids covered in the exciting KIDS ZONE, generously sponsored by Salty Paws. Head over to the new Northwestern Mutual Community Park playground, where a world of kid-friendly activities awaits. From coloring to balloon artistry, there's no shortage of fun for your little ones.
But that's not all! Petfest is thrilled to announce Ernie's Birthday Bash, a special celebration for their beloved mascot, Ernie. The festivities kick off early and last all day long. Bring the entire family and indulge in free face painting, temporary tattoos, and mesmerizing balloon animals. Capture the joy at the free photo booth, and while at it, don't forget to enter the raffle for a chance to win a fantastic prize package of Fromm food and treat!
